Jude Shih
Hao-Ting Shih is an HMMA-nominated Taiwanese composer based in Los Angeles, known for his innovative approach to film scoring. His notable projects include the feature film MONGRELS, set to premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and Vancouver International Film Festival, and the award-winning documentary DUET, which garnered accolades such as the 96th Student Academy Award and Best Documentary at several festivals including the New York Short International Film Festival and DaVinci International Film Festival.
Hao-Ting’s compositional journey began with a fascination for 70s electronic pioneers like Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, evolving into a deep engagement with post-romantic classical music, minimalism, and electroacoustic music. His recent work explores the fusion of acoustic and electronic elements, crafting deconstructed sound palettes.
Hao-Ting Shih graduated from NYU Screen Scoring program, where he had the honor to study under Emmy Award-winning Jamie Lawrence, John Kaefer, and Mandy Hoffman. He is currently working in Sparks and Shadows, founded by Emmy and BAFTA winner Bear McCreary.
